Château Montrose is an iconic reference of the Saint-Estèphe appellation. This 1855 Second Cru Classé watches over one of the most beautiful Médoc terroirs. Château Montrose’s Second Vin, La Dame de Montrose is made from the same vineyard as the Grand Vin. La Dame de Montrose offers another vision of the Saint-Estèphe terroir. Supple and dominated by red fruit notes, this wine offers an immediate accessibility in its youth. The colour is an intense dark red, the nose blends fragrances of black fruit with subtle woody, toasty and smoky notes. A rich and ample attack precedes a round and harmonious palate with supple and silky tannins. The finish is persistent and gives off aromas of ripe fruit.
Wine Advocate-Parker : The 2015 La Dame de Montrose is deep garnet-purple in color with a nose of crushed black currants, warm black plums and black truffles with hints of underbrush, dried herbs and tar. Medium-bodied, firm and with a good core of earth-laced black fruits, it finishes with good length.
